History

We are a charitable, nonprofit agency founded by families in 1958 as the St. Charles County Association for Retarded Citizens to provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. In 1994, we changed our name to Family Support Services (FSS) to better reflect our activities. In 1995 we added the sub-name "…helping people with developmental disabilities".

While our name has changed, our commitment to meeting the needs of our community has not.
